From the coastal state of Kerala, India, known for its lush tropics, seafood, and spices, we present to you a curry full of surprises. The authentic recipe originates in the Malabar region of Kerala, which is famous for its integral role in the “Spice Route”.

This sauce carries notes of tangy tamarind, turmeric, ginger and curry leaves, to highlight shrimp and fish. You can also use the brightness of this curry for root vegetables or tofu.

Serving Suggestions:

Sauté shrimp, fish, chicken, vegetables or tofu and add the sauce
Simmer for 3-7 minutes or until the protein is cooked
Serve hot with rice or Indian flatbreads. Shake up, simmer, and use Malabar sauce to accompany grilled or roasted fish, shrimp or lobster. Cooking mussels or clams? Use Malabar sauce to enjoy the savory shellfish to its fullest. Enjoy!
